Our Approach
The NLJ Foundation is committed to serving the community through a hands- on approach. We strive to improve the lives of others not just by giving hand outs, but helping them help themselves. By doing so, we can build a better community for future generations to come.
Our mission is to provide educational and recreational activities in a safe and secure facility for the entire community; focusing on
bringing together, stabilizing and supporting the family members and their traditions. We are staffed and equipped to conduct a wide range of quality services focused on the complete individual by implementing programs and workshops involving self-discovery, creative arts, and health. The sole purpose of our foundation is to improve the quality of life for all family members in need of our services in the community in which we serve.
The late Norman Jones and his wife, Louise Jones, raised five sons and four daughters in Toledo, Ohio. Their success in raising such a large family was through caring for each child as an individual, giving their time, money, and energy to provide a good life for their children and sharing everything that they had with them. This foundation was started in their honor to share with the community the love and kindness that was known to the Jones children through their parents.
The purpose of this foundation is to reach out to the community through charity and donations, enrichment programs, and volunteer efforts. To give to the community, care for the community, and share with the community.

2nd Annual Back to School Drive
The Norman and Louise Jones Foundation successfully hosted its 2nd Annual Back to School drive August 21-22, 2010. The foundation gave away over $7,000 in supplies to over 250 Toledo area children. Local businesses and organizations such as the John Bates Foundation, Everything Office Ltd, Lourdes College, and individual donors helped make the event a success.
Brooklyn Brown, the executive director of the foundation, had a tremendous amount of help from the children of the late Norman Jones and Louise Jones. Their eight surviving children (one of whom passed) came together for this drive in a truly inspiring way to help needy Toledo families get what they needed for the upcoming school year. Two of their children came in from New York and Texas. They each took families around to collect supplies and kept the program orderly and timely.
Due to the current economic state, the NLJ Foundation understands the struggles many families face by having to buy school supplies, especially for multiple children. They wanted to help alleviate some of the pressures so that the money could go to other uses, such as buying uniforms. Children grades K-12 were allowed to come in, pick a backpack and a lunch bag, and then fill their bag with the supplies on their lists. If a family did not have a school list, they were given a backpack, lunch bag and basic package of paper, pens, pencils, etc. to get started. The few extra supplies that remained at the end of the event were donated to Lake Middle School in Millbury, OH. This included some book covers, paper towels, glue, notebook paper, pens, and more.

2nd Annual Warm up Lucas County Coat Drive
The Norman and Louise Jones Foundation held their second annual "Warm Up Lucas County" Coat Drive on Friday, October 8th. The coat drive focused on getting warm coats to men, women, and children in the Toledo area. The Foundation was able to give to those in need through the kind donations that came in from caring citizens of the community. KUKA Toledo Production Operations provided an overwhelming number of coats and also volunteers to help with the drive. The NLJF gave coats to local shelters and families were able to come in and pick out coats as well.
Leftover coats will be donated along with this year's Thanksgiving baskets. The Foundation would like to thank all the people who made this event a success. Your continued support allows us to touch the lives of individuals every day. Thank you.

Also, the NLJF had the help of volunteers that helped sort and organize food. To everyone who contributed their time and money to our cause, we give our sincerest thanks and appreciation.
